Lindsay will guide you through the gorgeous Walter Foster book, "Creative Lettering and Beyond," and teach some basic techniques. Based on popularity, the club will work its way through the book over the next few months to more advanced techniques such as Chalk Lettering.

Each club meeting is only $20 and will include pens (to borrow during class), paper, some handouts and a glass of wine. Feel free to bring your own pens, too. You’re encouraged to buy the book, but you’re more than welcome to just browse through Lindsay’s book during club meetings.

Wine Down! with Helping Restore Ability

Enjoy music, wine, and friends at Urban Alchemy as the countdown to North Texas Giving Day continues. Visit the Helping Restore Ability table for door prizes, to learn about the organization, and to make your North Texas Giving Day pledge.

ABOUT HELPING RESTORE ABILITY

Helping Restore Ability is a comprehensive resource for Texans with disabilities and their families to find the care they need. The organization was founded on the vision of a future in which no Texan with a disability lacks the resources they need to live a full and independent life.

Helping Restore Ability was founded as the Arlington Handicapped Association in 1977 by a young man with polio, Sam Provence, and his determined friends. Sam is believed to be the last victim diagnosed with polio in Tarrant County.

Sam and his friends believed with an unswerving passion that a physical disability should not keep a person from participating fully in society and living an independent and active life.

As services expanded beyond the city limits, Arlington Handicapped Association was renamed the Handicapped Resource Association in 1988. Beginning in 1999, Arlington Handicapped Association began doing business as Helping Restore Ability, a name that reflects the goals and mission without the implied restrictions of the word ‘handicapped.’ The legal name was changed to “Helping Restore Ability” in 2011.
